Well hi all,

over the past four years or so I have

been producing terrain for my gaming

needs well I Have now more terrain

then I need and have to find a new

direction for my gaming hobby.

So I have started to work as a

Mantic Pathfinder.

I love Kings of war , as well as

dead zone and Dreadball, so it was

easy to apply for the program.

So this blog will start with showcasing

my activities with the Mantic pathfinders

program.

There will still be times I will

place terrain projects on the blog

but it will now be the home to the

adventures of a Mantic Pathfinder

in one of the remote capital city's

around the world, Perth Western Australia.

making trees

one of the request I have had is what are the trees made of and how to make them.
well I work for Bunnings (Australia's largest hardware store network). So most of the items I use come from Bunnings.
this is a shot of all the item I used. plus things like texture paint and MDF
I do have a small rock mould and use smooth on to produce the rocks I mount the trees into.
the green ball of plastic plant and the plastic plants came from the store they all break down smaller to use.

the bases are metal washers for the single trees I use grout to stick down the rock to it. this gives some weight for the base to hold the tree up I then paint up the bases. I use black grout so I do not have to  base coat them. the larger ones that hold the taller leaves I use coaster blanks and cast some larger roads for them. again paint out base before I put trees in.

with the trees I paint the kebab stick brown cut to the height making sure they are all different heights. when I take the plastic plant ball apart all the small pieces have  four branches and a flat area with a whole I then push this down the kebab stick as many as I like to look right. I have a few different types of plant so I mix them up to give the feel of a tree. I then super glued these in place and yes the 7 pack for two dollars is all I use.

after both parts are completed I drill a hole in the rock and super glue the tree in. if there are larger or more then one rock I may put two trees on the small base again they all need to look different just like trees in the wild. the ones on the coasters i also have glued in some plastic plant parts to the base and some small trees to fill out them drilled a larger whole for the palm tree leaf.

I have also cut some MDF an use a textured paint. this gives you the where dose the forest start if you use the terrain rules. then you can just place other trees around so the table looks great.
I hope this helps with seeing how I made my trees.
