path finder update

We I was able to get to the local club for there open day and able to get some demos done

I was able to get the all new dungeon saga out.

It was good to show off the game and how easy it is and the fun that you can have.

We made a few mistakes on the day but we got there in the end.

Best Hobby - this will be for the army that is painted, presented and has the best Character
that means more then best painted it means that that has all the trimmings the display, the fluff and history, the added extras.

Best general-straight up battle points who wins the most points

Best Painted - straight up who has the highest score on the paint matrix

and as tradition for those that play mantic we will have a
wooded spoon for the winner at the wrong end of best general

we will be using the Kings of war Beta rules and amendment document for this event, these can both be found on the mantic forum

with that we will be running a 2000pt army list

and no allies as we are all still getting use to the new rules for our armies.

cost will be about $15-$20 each this may change

it is dread ball time

This is a league based around an intro to the game. If you are an experience player it still has an opportunity to take new teams to try out.

I also have some team that you can purchase if you need, or if you have models from other range you can use them.



Rounds start April 20th
Each round will be three weeks in length,
Depending on player numbers will determine how long. Must be willing to travelled to Outpost south, as that is the most centre location for both north and south players,
I am looking at 4-6 players for the first league. If we have numbers we will split into two separate leagues a northern and southern just depends on numbers.
This will be an intro league and we will be using seasons 1-3 rules we will not use MVPs in this league.
Dreadball leagues from the season one rule book will be in effect page 51.
We will not be using mvps.
We will start with 100mc for each team
Each round will be a double header one home and one away game in the round. This can be played in one night.
These games can be played at any location or any time during the round.
After you play your round you email the results to firewaterportal@gmail.com.au
Both coaches will need to submit there results, if one player submits then the results I have from them will stand.
If no results are submitted from both coaches you will forfeit the round and both score 0 LP and 0 game points
If you are unable to play this due to life than you can apply to league official for an extension this means you will have to play the game in the next round, (that means two games in next round) this is to done before the end of the round or you will forfeit the round.
You are to keep you own records of the games played as they will be needed at the end of league.

Best painted team and themed team
Most points scored by team
And a league winner’s trophy

A look at my Deadzone

As a player I am a play it painted type of player.
So as a pathfinder I also bring the play it painted attitude to the hobby as all of the events and leagues I run do have painting as a component, even if only three colour blocks. So I thought I would give you a look at the dead zone I have painted so far. From time to time I will display the model collection for the games to show that even 10 Min's a day and you can have a lot of painted armies.

so not only minis have a play it painted for me so dose the terrain. if people are willing to put effort into their models i have to give them a suitable place to play.

Demo time

Well I have been out this week to do a demo of Dread ball with a new player.
He has just got the base game and had no one to play.
I is great to get out and play some more games of Dreadball,
So thanks Mathew for the games.

I seemed to not have uploaded any of the photos from the game.

2015 where to for now.

well as part of the planning for the next year it is goo to set some goals.
these goals will be broken down as time goes by.
but to start lets look at the basic five points for the next 12 months.

Well here is mine

1. Paint more then I buy/or receive from kick-starters
2. Play more games then I demo.
3. Run four events during the year 2015
4. Update my blogs- at least once a week-
5. Build three display boards for three different systems.

now that I have set down the basics of my up and coming year, I already have mad a change. As well as increased the scope of the goals for this year.

2. So I am a pathfinder and this year would like to increase my games play so I need to play more games with people the just demo games for mantic that way I still can build up the player base of my mantic games and get more games in.

the update is that I will be building an abyssal table for Kings of War, this will now mean only two display boards and one table.


One of the events I like to do is build terrain, so each year I choose a theme and build a table or two, last year it was a jungle table, so this year I am building a Abyssal table.I actually Build tables for many of the systems I play so last year there was a 8foot Jungle table for Kings of War, as well as a jungle table for dreadzone, I did not get a dreadball one built , But I bought the Azure Forrest broad with the expansion.
now one of the efforts i make is that all of my tables from different systems now link to the main table so that the games can all flow together. as you can see with the KoW table and the Deadzone terrain.
so this means that as i make the next table all others will be linked in some way.

so for 2015 I have Kings of war table to do, Then a linked in display board or a gaming table for, deadzone, dreadball and Mars attacks as these are the game systems in play as at the beginning of 2015.

Welcome to 2015

This is a new year and I am ready for the challenge of all that is mantic
The year finished with a surprise.  I got my copy of dread ball extreme ,
well that was cool to get now season four is underway.

Also received the missing forge guard for dead zone-

as great end to 2014 - if you go over to my painting page you will get a run down of the painting I completed this year lets just say it was quiet a bit.

Now back to my new stuff,
In January we started off with our monthly kings of war day at the local club, Krags.
We had six of us with the one new guy, we also have started to play at 1500pts now.

this was a great night. look forward to next month.

I have also booked in a couple of intro games at outpost south on Tuesday, for a new player looking to get into dreadball.
Next up will be getting a basic league off the ground. I will try to get 4-6 players in this one to help with getting my skills right just as well as the players,
I will do a season one league to get the new players involved, as I have now found two players new to the game wanting in.

As well as building tables, The local FLGS is a magic store and has room for gaming tables so I offered to load the store three tables and terrain to get more players down to the store and show off the games mantic have. So with those tables and terrain at the store from my collection, helps me just go down and play any time someone wants a game. It is about building better relationships with the local store.

Any way back to the gaming table.

Pathfinder up date

well I have not been updating much - Sorry about that, I work as a manager in the retail industry and this is the busy time of year, So since the last event on the 29 november, I have not been out and about much.

But we had a kings of war event and mini Mantic open day for those in Perth WA as we could not get to England.

after the event I have been informed that the store has now got Mars attacks so I have painted up my copy and I am now ready for demo work at the store.

I did get down the club last week for a dreadball demo, Now I have to get the players pack out for a small intro league.

I will have more up dates as I get this xmas finished and out more often.

Pathfinder Updates

Kings Of War

Well I have Got my first Kings of War event on Saturday the 29th November 2014 at one of the local gaming stores, Good Games.
I have use of the table for free and really looking for the opportunity to have the game stow cased there. Giving the store owner a chance to have mantic products in the future.

so we are having a 800pt event with four round , at this point I have eight player spots. this is the first time we have seen a kings of was tournament in WA so I am not expecting much. If I can get eight players I will be happy with that.We are just starting the road to getting people playing so it is good to take what you can and build on it.

Mars Attacks

Mantic have just started to get Mars Attcaks out to retailers and seems to have not got the traction yet in the market place. they have asked if we could do some demos with mars attacks in the deadzone universe so I will look at getting this happening. I will admit that my Kickstater only just arrive this week so I really have not been able to demo Mars attacks yet. So with the arrival of mars attacks I am going to start doing a couple of demo and get the ball rolling with the board game crowd as well.

Dread ball

well I have started to put together a players pack for a dreadball league at the club. I hope that the club would approve the League to start in the new year. I am again only looking for about 6 to 8 players to get it of the ground and practice running a league. If it works out I hope to get the small leagues running at a couple of clubs this may then build the player base. We do have a lauge following of blood bowl so with dreadball still being supported I hope that we can get some regular groups playing. this season I will be playing  - The Red Planets - my mars Attacks dreadball team.

Just need to paint them, I have started on the first test model already.


Deadzone 

well I have a new demo board for the game now just got to get it to the table. at this point I have no big plans or leagues yet. I will just get the game out and do demos next week I am at good games with some demos of the the game.

Kings of War - 2nd edition,

well that starts this week so will get on to that when it launches the kickstarter on Friday UK time.
